Surprise Netflix addition The Eternaut, which has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score, has stormed the streamer’s UK top 10 chart just days after its release.
Created by Bruno Stagnaro, the six-part post-apocalyptic series follows a group of snowstorm survivors as they battle an alien enemy.
The logline reads: “After a devastating toxic snowfall kills millions, Juan Salvo and a group of survivors in Buenos Aires must resist an invisible threat from another world.”
The Spanish-language drama stars Ricardo Darín as Juan. He is joined on the cast by Carla Peterson, César Troncoso, Andrea Pietra, Ariel Staltari, Marcelo Subiotto, Claudio Martínez Bel, Orianna Cárdenas, and Mora Fisz.
Based on the comic of the same name by Héctor Germán Oesterheld, The Eternaut was added to Netflix over the weekend and is now number 4 in their UK Top 10 chart.

The series currently has an impressive 94% critic score from 17 reviews on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, with many praising the show for its adaptation of the source material.
“Despite adhering to well-known formulas, The Eternaut isn’t just another derivative end-of-the-world yarn, but an adaptation of the graphic novel series considered to be a sort of urtext for the genre,” The Financial Times penned.
The New York Times‘ Mike Hale said: “[Stagnaro] has taken a story about a small band of people with a few simple personality quirks each and added layer upon layer of melodramatic detail and mystery.”

IGN Movies wrote: Juan is an everyman for everybody. What gives this show its juice are all the scenes of him venturing into the unknown, step by wary step, trying to stay alive long enough to make a difference.”
“The Eternaut, Netflix’s adaptation of the bestselling graphic novel, is a chilling slow-burn sci-fi with no shortage of twists,” Collider said of the show.
The Eternaut is streaming on Netflix.
