Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (29 April), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks has revealed why Lucas Hay collapsed, and it’s devastating news for the popular teenager.
This week, Rex was horrified to find his boyfriend’s son unresponsive at home, and his suspicions were raised when he found Grace lurking by the door.
Grace had just discovered that Rex gave intel to Donny about their illegal operation, and she had threatened what could happen to him if DI Banks found out the truth.
Rex accompanied Lucas to the hospital in today’s episode, and questioned Grace about why she was at the flat. She swore she had nothing to do with Lucas collapsing, but didn’t rule out that Banks might be responsible.

While Rex was desperate to know what happened to Lucas, Misbah couldn’t give him answers and urged him to get in touch with Ste. However, Ste was having fun at John Paul and Jez’s engagement party and missed Rex’s calls.
Rex remained convinced that Banks had drugged Lucas and suggested to Grace that he was going to tell Ste the truth about everything.
Ste eventually answered the phone, and Rex told him the news, so Sienna drove him to see his unwell son.

But Sienna experienced another bout of temporary paralysis behind the wheel which caused a car accident, with Donny tragically hit by the vehicle.
After this dramatic disruption, Ste made it to the hospital and demanded to see Lucas. Rex set out to come clean, but when Ste broke down in tears, Rex didn’t feel able to break his heart further.
Ste and Rex waited for Misbah to get some answers about Lucas, but she was distracted by Donny’s hospital admission.

Rex was again ready to tell Ste the truth, but Lucas woke up at that point and revealed that Misbah had already given him some life-changing news.
“They found something on my brain, dad,” he said. “It’s been there a while and it’s why I collapsed. They think it’s a brain tumour.”

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
