Marvel has already officially spoiled the big Thunderbolts ending reveal

Thunderbolts ending spoilers follow.

Marvel Studios has already spoiled the big ending reveal for its latest film Thunderbolts, less than a week after release.

The film is officially titled Thunderbolts*, and much was made about what the asterisk could mean in the lead-up to the film coming out.

The mystery was revealed right at the end of the film, as the title changed to *The New Avengers (asterisk now at the front), reflecting how the character Valentina Allegra de Fontaine had rebranded the team in front of the press.

But fans don’t need to sit through the film or look up spoiler articles to find that out now, as Marvel’s marketing is officially including the new title.

Billboards have been changed with the new title in places like West Hollywood’s Sunset Plaza Drive, while the social media accounts for Marvel’s Singapore branch have posted the title transition and calling for fans to see it on the big screen.

The title change happens just as the credits begin, and there’s a brief comedic scene partway through the credits.

However, the post-credits sequence is more meaty and sets up where the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going next (it’s also meaty in that it’s the longest of all the MCU movies’ credits scenes).

Interestingly, that scene was only filmed a month ago, with director Jake Schrier heavily implying that Anthony and Joe Russo (who are helming Avengers: Doomsday) were the ones to direct it instead.

Thunderbolts* is out now in cinemas. Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on May 1, 2026.
